Steel 440 is a high quality stainless steel, further divided into classes A-B-C, with C being the best.
Elements content: 0.6-1.2% Carbon, 16-18% Chrome, 0.75% Molybdenum, 1% Manganese and Silicon. Hardness reaches about 58 HRC (Rockwell)
This steel is also used for bearings.
